Project MANTE and KALLE
Project Mante & Kalle is the story of the two remarkable bizarre baroque figures 'Mante and 'Kalle "," walking in any city or country.The duo is the symbol of decadence, and the shadow side man.
Both figures found there self very well in spite of the magnified grey face that they see in their mirror.
This remarkable figures walk in the streets with a shopping cart that has been crammed with fat food, junk food and a number of attributes, such as a mirror and a sunshade.
From the shopping cart, transformed to a Rolls Royce or a Bentley came wrong music.
During their walk they took a regular break for lunch, a lunch that can get out of hand, just like "la grande bouffe".
The rather "surrealistic" creatures chat against each other the whole time "in a language made by themselves (jabber talk) and ensure the necessary hilarity to the public that it is surprised always agreeable.
They criticize everything and everyone.
The costumes and grime is unique, they have, men and women, baldies, magnified ears and noses. That gives a rather clownish feeling.
It is as if they came out from a painting of Jeroen Bosch or James Ensor and the sphere is like 'Cirque du Soleil ".
Project Mante & Kalle got a price for his parade, and has been hailed by the press as one of the better street theatre acts.
In Ghent Mante and Kalle played at the tram.
In the meantime, one of the top productions of Teater Exces. DE KALLES Two, three, four or five chatting ladies as the Kalle-creature from "Project Mante and Kalle" draw each with their own cart through the streets, making up themselves, eat, dance, read,... and, in particular: the public is not safe for the ladies! DE TETTERENDE KALLES (Twittering Kalles) Three Kalles, on stilts and with megaphone, create the environment unsafe. SPRUITJES EN KAVIAAR (Brussels sprouts and caviare) Two Kalles with adapted caddies have the company of their "bosom girlfriend" (although they are the bosoms!)
This third Kalle is dressed in green, is much weaker and is an environmentalist woman.
With its own chart made of old can and bamboo (a Jaguar instead of the Rolls or Bentley), she accompanies her friends to indicate them about their unhealthy feeding and wasting way of live.
It is a parade, with regular stops, with a facet of environmentally responsible act.
On the final stop, they compare their "environment foot print".
Do not ask for the game play, but playful, fun way to point out to the public in a more sustainable life.
The production can only be played from July 2010 for other organizers. There is an exclusive contract with Interleuven, which is the constituent for this production.
